Highfield Road, Doncaster.
This was an incredibly demanding project, which other contractors had declined to attempt, due to the existing building being sand based. The project presented by clients comprised of double basement for conversion into a Bedroom with En-suite and a kitchen diner, incorporating emergency escape windows to each room. This required the construction and installation of a totally new floor. To enable this a reinforced concrete raft was installed utilising the existing sand in the mixing of the concrete, which was 7 tons in total. The basement was completely damp proofed using a fully approved tanking and insulation system. To the exterior a stairwell was constructed of block work topped by flagstones, along with a specifically designed drainage system. Prior to installation the staircase balustrades required galvanising for longevity. The result was a beautiful conversation, providing the client with a significant increase in value to the property.
